Kids learn about safe walking at library event
Updated: Jun 26, 2019
On October 26th, kids and their parents converged at Bartholomew County Public Library for a story time and craft - as they do many times each week - but this time they were in greater numbers and with the purpose of learning about safe walking. The 'Clifford Takes a Walk' story time, craft and book giveaway event, offered in partnership with Safe Kids Bartholomew County, CRH Healthy Communities and the Bartholomew County Public Library, was a huge success. Around 100 books were given away, thanks to Safe Kids Bartholomew County. I'm sure many of the kids and parents are still enjoying the Clifford puppets made at the event, as we are at our house!
It was wonderful to see so many children and their families taking part in a Walktober (Walking Month) event, and even better that the event (as well as the Clifford book that so many took home) will provide them with important knowledge about how to walk safely.
Do you have any ideas on how we can involve kids in Walktober or Bike Month in the future? If so, please e-mail us.
