WALKtober 2020: Walk a mile on Mondays

October is Walking Month in Columbus, Indiana, aka WALKtober! As with all things in 2020, we're doing WALKtober a little differently this year. Interestingly, "research shows that healthy thinking and behavior are synchronized with the week, with Monday being the day people are most open to positive changes." (The Monday Campaigns). Many people report that if they exercise on Monday, they're more likely to exercise on other days of the week as well.


This WALKtober, we encourage you to embrace the power of Mondays by walking a Monday Mile. Put on some comfortable shoes and get out and walk! It takes most of us only 15 to 20 minutes to walk a mile. Not sure where to walk? A booklet of walking routes can be found on our website if you need some inspiration. Keep in mind that if you're walking with those outside of your family or social bubble, we encourage you to wear a mask or face covering.
